Amazon WHS Program Manager, WESE Change Management (Level 6) in Nashville, Tennessee

The WHS Worldwide Ergonomics and Safety Experience (WESE) team is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the change management efforts of the team.

This role will work to streamline the approval process for WHS initiatives and improve the change management customer experience. This includes working with stakeholders as the primary point of contact for the coordination and management of strategic, cross-functional, and business-critical projects. These assignments are complex in nature and support business, regional, country, and global level priorities. The role requires influential leadership across all verticals and horizontals, with highly visible timelines that align to VP level goals. This role will manage multiple efforts concurrently from initiation through to closure with the flexibility to shift priorities at any given time.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead and implement significant process improvement projects within the team and larger change management network

• Identify and address customer and business pain points by actively deep diving into data and operational processes, and by working with cross-functional teams

• Partner with the engineering change management (ECM) team to identify and implement process improvement opportunities and track service level agreement (SLA) timelines

• Drive continuous improvement efforts in the WESE business operations

• Oversee the team WHS project financials

• Write effective Amazon documents and ensure high quality content for stakeholders

• Support the weekly WHS network digest process

• Work backwards – demonstrate planning capability to execute on deliverables

• Provide effective communication to customers and stakeholders across regions

• Collect, analyze, and present data to drive decision making, as required

• Anticipate bottlenecks and blockers, assess risks, mitigate issues, and troubleshoot, as needed

About the team

The WESE team is responsible for ensuring the success of global engagement and ergonomics safety programs at sites, including Customer Fulfillment, Sort Centers, and Amazon Logistics, and for improving the safety experience of Amazonians. The team is focused on the successful execution of new initiatives and projects at sites that will improve ergonomics and reduce risks to associates.

The successful candidate will be an expert in stakeholder management, change management, and influencing without authority, often leading project teams comprised of senior leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience prioritizing complex deliverables, understanding and discussing technical concepts, managing trade-offs, and running meetings with technical and business leaders

  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience thinking strategically and executing methodically with an eye for tactical details

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired

  • Experience working with other teams within a company, using a high degree of influence and a relationship-based approach to achieve results

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
