The Production Manager will serve as the organizational, technical, logistical lead for MSNBC Digital and the MSNBC video content team. The Production Manager organizes teams of writers, producers and editors who produce content all day.
You must have exceptional organizational skills. An experienced project manager who is highly organized, thrives on meeting deadlines, and takes initiative to get things done. You’ll be the person making sure all aspects of production are running smoothly, keeping track of schedules, deadlines and being the liaison to our external partners.
The role requires expertise in Google sheets, task management tools and all social media platforms. Someone who knows how to produce spreadsheets, color-coded calendar systems and presentation decks.
Responsibilities:
Lead technical operations for all social media platforms
Security protocols / liaison with cyber security team
Technical support
Onboarding
Facilitating technical support with platform partners
Problem solving
Train staff on emerging technology
Conduct quality assurance checks on social media
Answer questions
Pin comments
Respond and interact with commenters
Coordinate team schedules and organizing staff calendars
Onboard new employees
Organizing staffer trainings
Tracking and ordering equipment
Coordinating software needs
Book studios for content videotaping
Book travel for MSNBC talent and producers
Write and produce decks for presentations
Manage and maintain production files
Build, maintain and manage schedules and communicate as schedules change
Track invoices for assigned projects
Manage expenses for talent and freelancers
Manage and maintain all staff scheduling (meetings, interviews, time off)
Organize and keep track of all invoices, payments and expense reports
Maintain team documentation
Engage in other relevant tasks as required
Manage projects launched by the Executive Producers
Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years experience in production management / operations
Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail
Exceptional communication skills
Expert knowledge in technical operations for all social media platforms
Proficiency in Google sheets, G Suite, PowerPoint, Slack
Experience with coordinating schedules and spreadsheets
Proficiency in Excel, Monday.com and other organizational team systems
Must work in New York City
Preferred Experience:
- Proficiency with digital gear (camera operations, microphones)
