HSS Rehab and Performance

Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) is currently seeking the next leader of Education for HSS Rehabilitation and Performance.

HSS Rehabilitation and Performance is a multidisciplinary team of over 350 including physical, occupational and speech therapists, exercise physiologists, massage therapists, Pilates instructors, scientists, engineers, prosthetist/orthotist, technicians and administrative professionals.

We are looking for a candidate with solid clinical and leadership experience in the world of education to lead our multidisciplinary education initiatives. This is an opportunity to lead a robust education subdivision, collaborating with world class colleagues across multiple disciplines.

In this highly visible role, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of rehabilitation education, internally and externally. As the Senior Director of our education team, you will lead the business development and scaling of HSS Rehabilitation and Performance educational programming and brand awareness to the next level.

The ideal candidate must have exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to influence people, build relationships and collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members, educational partners, and leadership. A passion for education with leadership and vision are required. A clinical background with experience in curriculum design and various learning models and platforms is preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with excellent organization and project management skills are a must. Reports to VP, Rehabilitation and Performance.

Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Create strategic initiatives to drive excellence, innovation, growth, and scalability of HSS Rehabilitation and Performance education

  • Identify, develop and mange key external partnerships for scale

  • Create a diversified revenue stream from education assets\ Monitoring of key performance indicators

  • Identify and monitor of key performance indicators

  • Fiscal oversight

  • Demonstrate necessary skills for team building, including open communication and promotion of a collegial atmosphere

  • Analyze problems, issues, and opportunities. Systematically and logically able to make decisions that support the mission, vision, values and goals of the department and hospital

  • Develop and implement projects using a systematic approach to translate work plans into actionable and measurable components

  • Support an environment that encourages ‘out of the box’ thinking

  • Create an environment leading to innovation

  • Full daily oversight of education operations and team

  • Ensure compliance with education accreditation standards

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate curriculum which qualify for onboarding, continuing education credit and/or residency and fellowship training

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree. Masters preferred

  • NYS PT/OT license preferred

  • 5+ years experience in education

  • 3+ years supervisory experience

  • Advanced computers skills: Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure

  • Ability to influence others and develop teams

  • Outstanding communication skills – oral, written and presentation coupled with the ability to mentor, mobilize and work collaboratively within high-functioning teams

  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Knowledge of education accreditation and regulatory standards

  • Strong management and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Pay Range - Minimum

USD $135,000.00/Yr.

Pay Range - Maximum

USD $165,000.00/Yr.
