Description

We're seeking an experienced Product leader, with a strong technical foundation to join the Search Relevance and Ranking team and enhance our Search experience for customers. Amazon Search helps customers to find the products that matches their intent, serving a diverse global audience across various platforms. With billions of searches and substantial revenue, Amazon Search impact is widespread and significant. Our access to a wealth of data enables us to employ machine learning for creating smarter and personalized experiences for both customers and selling partners.

Key job responsibilities

You'll empower customers to discover the best products that aligns with their mission. You'll address customer challenges, define a strategic vision, prioritize, invest in cutting-edge technologies such as Large Language Models (LLM), and enable tailored search experiences globally and on all devices. You will analyze existing mechanisms meticulously to pinpoint inefficiencies and cost drivers. Subsequently, you'll deploy strategies to minimize the cost to serve, resulting in enhanced customer benefits such as quicker delivery and lower prices.

As a leader, adeptly managing uncertainties while delivering value to both customers and the bottom line is crucial. In this high-impact role, you will distinguish yourself by demonstrating comfort with ambiguity, a practical approach, and creative thinking—all supported by strong executive backing.

You'll have complete ownership from strategy to daily oversight, fostering teamwork for a satisfying customer experience. Your responsibilities include crafting a coherent vision, strategy, tenets, and execution tailored for diverse audiences, showcasing exceptional written proficiency. Additionally, you will work closely with Search partners to foster collaboration. Throughout this journey, you'll gain valuable insights, enjoy the process, and make a significant impact on a large scale.

The Search Relevance and Ranking mission is to empower customers to shop effortlessly and confidently. We achieve this by providing relevant products and information through a well-organized interface. This is made possible by utilizing AI and ML models to gain deep insights into customer behaviors and preferences, ensuring the delivery of the most relevant results aligned with customer goals. Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, operations research, business analytics, information systems or equivalent

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex technical products on time and within budget,

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of end to end product delivery experience

  • Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders

  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

  • Experience in online search, recommendation, personalization, or e-commerce

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $144,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
