Reporting to the Process Engineering Supervisor, the Senior Shift Engineering Technician works in collaboration with the Shift Manufacturing Supervisor and is primarily responsible for the technical performance of the shift to meet the production plan.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Working alongside the Manufacturing Supervisor, ensure that all engineering/production technicians that are working within the manufacturing area are complying at all times to company and regulatory requirements including: Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality & GMP.

  • Utilise performance monitoring systems such as MES to effectively lead the technical teams to meet the production plan.

  • Work with the planned maintenance team to ensure the shift team are adequately trained to execute shift autonomous maintenance tasks (DTM, weekly PM).

  • Create and maintain a strong, engaged team with effective succession planning and a clear skills development strategy in line with business objectives. Promote the use and implementation of KAS ideas within procedural requirements.

  • Drive the recruitment & onboarding process for engineering technicians/production technicians.

  • Engage with and provide opportunity for all team members to be involved in waste reduction, OEE performance improvements and business safety and quality initiatives.

  • Conduct regular 1-2-1s with the shift engineering technicians to provide feedback and pro-actively support their development utilising career blueprints.

  • Support the Process and Project Engineers with the installation of new equipment and the modification of existing equipment. Ensures all modifications are trained out effectively with their shifts’ Production Technicians.

  • Support apprentice on shift development plans and help to facilitate the execution of the plan.

  • Responsible for all technical shift resource and ensuring that they are compliant with all elements of C2C Training curricula and the roll down of any safety alerts within the designated timeframes.

  • Champion effective problem solving on shift through suitable structured methodology, ensuring robust handover of information at each escalation level or shift change.

About you:

  • Minimum ONC/level 3 engineering qualification or extensive relevant demonstrated capability.

  • Proven ability working within an engineering application.

  • Technical leadership experience advantageous.

  • Problem solving leader and practitioner.

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results through teamwork.

  • PC knowledge/capability.

  • SAP knowledge (desirable)

  • Competent engineering knowledge of:

  • High speed automation

  • Pneumatics

  • Electro-mechanical

  • Drive systems

  • Manufacturing safety systems

  • PLC understanding (desirable)
