General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

The France Program is seeking a Project Manager to lead daily planning and monitoring project goals and strategies. The Project Manager will participate in a team environment with planning, coordinating, tracking, and reporting project activities, timelines, and conducting risk assessments; specifically related to engineering and sustainment operations. The Project Manager is responsible for project scope, deliverables, schedules, and budget.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all phases of the project(s) from conceptualization through completion, including acquisition, planning, risk management, and managing technical performance to ensure quality, business, and financial objectives are attained.

  • Develop and coordinate project plans which may include but not limited to mitigating risks and issues, on-time deliveries and ensuring contract obligations are met.

  • Participate with technical staff and/or Division/Group management to develop and implement current, annual, and long-term technical, schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives for the project(s). May also contribute to the development of Group/Company objectives.

  • Participate with engineering to establish design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, testing, and integration.

  • Interact with internal and external representatives at various levels concerning resolution of technical and scheduling issues. Act as primary contact for project issues.

  • Influence, and coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract(s). Influence contract acquisitions, negotiations, and modifications.

  • Ensure technical leadership and excellence is maintained by participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of the required management, professional, and technical talent.

  • Act as the primary customer contact for program activities and may lead program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.

  • Identify project/program issues and provide leadership in developing solutions such as re-allocation of resources or modifying contract specification.

  • Contribute to the development of new business opportunities and expansion of existing business opportunities. May participate with Group management in pursuing business partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that enhance the capabilities of the Group/Company and may result in new products, programs, and business opportunities.

  • Manage the development of and ensure the security of proprietary technology and maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Job Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelors in Business Administration or related discipline and eleven or more years of progressively complex experience in the project administration field with at least five of those years in project management. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.

  • Must demonstrate an extensive understanding of project management processes and procedures, planning and scheduling methods, and budget management as well as the ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate workloads to meet established milestones and budgets.

  • Basic project management knowledge of fundamental concept and standard terminology.

  • Basic business knowledge from finance, contracts, operations, and management.

  • Coordinate and participate in a highly functional team and work environment.

  • Travel Availability: Domestic and International travel up to 1-2 weeks duration. Must have a valid US passport prior to hire.

  • Must demonstrate extensive knowledge of Time and Material type contracts, to include rate management, invoicing, and margin analysis. Requires the ability to analyze costs on Time and Materials contracts, identify anomalies, and rectify during execution.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
