Princeton University Postdoctoral Research Associate in Princeton, New Jersey

Position: Postdoctoral Research Associate Company: Princeton University Description: Postdoctoral Research Associate: COVID Mitigation Policies and Life Outcomes The Office of Population Research at Princeton University invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher to conduct research on relationships between exposure to COVID mitigation policies and a range of life outcomes in mainland China. Successful applicants should have outstanding data management skills, strong programming skills, and substantive interests in policy effects on life outcomes in general and the effects of COVID mitigation policies in particular. Familiarity with the China Family Panel Studies data and with China's experience during the COVID-19 pandemic is preferred. The position reports to Professor James Raymo and will collaborate with other researchers in Princeton's Department of Sociology, the Office of Population Research, and the Center for Social Research at Peking University. The appointment will be through the Office of Population Research. Appointments are for one year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding. Responsibilities: *Work with Dr. Raymo and his colleagues to review relevant literature on China and other countries. *Work with Dr. Raymo and his colleagues to conduct descriptive analyses using data from the China Family Panel Studies (CFPS). *Work with Dr. Raymo and his colleagues at Peking University to merge CFPS data with granular COVID mitigation policy data and specify models for evaluation of policy effects. *Communicate with the director of the secure data enclave at Peking University to submit analysis files and receive and interpret output files. *Collaborate on writing of scientific papers for peer-review. *Present research at local, national, and international conferences and meetings. A PhD is required in a related field (e.g., demography, sociology, economics, epidemiology). Salary and full employee benefits are offered in accordance with University guidelines.
