Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Within Azure Data, the Microsoft Fabric platform team builds and maintains the operating system and provides customers a unified data stack to run an entire data estate. The platform provides a unified experience, unified governance, enables a unified business model and a unified architecture.

The admin and governance team within the platform owns the security, governance and compliance features for Microsoft Fabric. These are blockers to enterprise customers adopting Fabric for their critical workloads. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to help us define and execute on a strategy to deliver these features that meet and exceed the most stringent enterprise promise. You'll work closely with architects, engineers, security and compliance experts, and stakeholders from all Fabric experience teams.

Responsibilities

  • In the near term, define and execute product strategy for service resiliency features such as business continuity and disaster recovery.

  • Develop and execute product strategy for security, governance and compliance features.

  • Engage with customers to deeply understand their security, governance and compliance needs.

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs and market trends.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including but not limited to all Fabric experience teams, customers, partners, and other Microsoft product teams in Azure and M365.

  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and other teams to ensure successful product development.

  • Monitor and analyze product performance and make data-driven decisions to improve product success.

  • Create go-to-market content from blogs to videos as needed.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development.

  • OR equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of experience working on features related to security, governance or compliance.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

  • This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years of experience with an Azure PaaS service in a technical capacity.

  • Demonstrates experience with features that improve service resiliency such as business continuity and disaster recovery.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
