Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the proper preparation and service of food for the patients and the cafeteria. Additional duties include responsibility for cleaning of serviceware equipment and work areas. Incumbents in this position shall comply with all applicable laws and rules including the Dignity Health Standards of Conduct and Dignity Health policies and procedures that apply to his/her job responsibilities seek guidance when in doubt promptly report any potential or suspected violation of Dignity Health Standards of Conduct Dignity Health policy or procedure or applicable laws/regulations and when requested assist Dignity Health personnel in investigating all allegations of violation. When called upon the incumbent shall assist in risk evaluation and work collaboratively with facility/entity leaders to implement monitor and mitigate risk corrective plans outlined by the Compliance program.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Two (2) years experience as a cook in an institutional kitchen/food service within the last seven (7) years.

  • Satisfactory completion of an institutional food preparation training program will also be accepted in lieu of experience required.

  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.

  • Ability to compute rate ratio and percents.

  • Must demonstrate a degree of literacy adequate to enable the employee to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.

  • Must demonstrate a degree of skill adequate to monitor numerical readings complete required numerical documentation and follow recipe and portion guidelines.

Pay Range

$35.62 - $41.75 /hour
