The 3D Sr Design Ops Coordinator supports the 3D product category design team. This role is the bridge between 2D Design team, the Package Development team, and vendors. This role supports the 3D technical production team that guides the product from concept to reality. This person will create 2D specification documents, follow-up with designers to achieve their intents, address technical challenges throughout the development process and oversee 3D modeling needs for the team.

This role is both technical and creative.

The 3D Sr Design Ops Coordinator produces 2D documentation and supports 3D. Responsibilities include 3D sculpting, model editing, and review in Zbrush. Strong technical proficiency is required along with problem-solving. This person will need to demonstrate a strong can-do attitude, organization, and technical ability to be successful.

Responsibilities

Build documentation that communicates design intent to vendors, this includes 2D technical drawings and creation of 3D models. This role partners with the 3D conceptual design team to complete final design specifications for product sampling and production.

Ability to detail and communicate design-specific criteria to the vendors and outside partners.

Create and modify vendor 3D models in Zbrush. Create 2D drawings in Abode Illustrator and CAD models with Autodesk Fusion360. Review 3D models from our vendors, and complete revisions based on feedback.

Create photorealist renderings in Keyshot of 3D products. Partner with the Design team to create presentation renderings of seasonal products and conceptual work in multiple colors, finishes, and textures.

Maintain BBW brand standards for products by actively referencing established material finishes and applying standard product dimensions and form criteria. This role is responsible for the updating of Designs.

Partner with Designers on development and finalization of accessories. Design background and experience in Home Décor is a plus.

Learn existing processes, own and action design turnovers (DTO) with the highest level of accuracy and maintain consistent output.

Reports to Manager of Design Operations and partners closely with peers. This position does not have direct reports.

Qualifications

3 -5 years of related design experience.

Must have strong technical drawing skills, ability to create cross-section views and detailed callouts to illustrate key design features.

Zbrush modeling with a strong proficiency in natural subject matter, characters, animals, and texturing. Follow design direction and implement sculptural changes based on Design leadership feedback. This will include modeling from scratch in addition to editing vendor models that will align with the BBW aesthetic.

Solid understanding in metal stamping, ceramic casting, resin molding, and glass production are highly important to this role. Experience in 3D printing and additive manufacturing a plus.

Must possess strong rendering skills in Keyshot and ability to create realistic product renderings in multiple finishes. High proficiency in texturing, UV mapping and Material Graph is a must.

Adobe Illustrator CS, Microsoft Office, ZBrush, Keyshot and Fusion 360 (or CAD equivalent)

Organized, highly motivated, passionate and results oriented. The candidate must have a strong eye for detail.

An excellent collaborator and enjoys working with others.

Phenomenal listening skills and able to understand and implement creative design direction from Design leadership.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or equivalent experience in 3D consumer product development.
