Insight Global Change Manager in Seattle, Washington

Job Description

o Change manager dedicated to this initiative

o Create a cohesive change program that meets the needs of differing stakeholder groups, and includes multiple change tactics/approaches for those most heavily impacted

o Produce standard change management deliverables such as change-related plans and report outs, design multiple ways to engage with audiences, and ensure solid feedback loops to gauge efficacy

o Thoroughly review existing materials from a similar software tool to determine what can be leveraged, work with internal resources to identify lessons learned from similar projects, report out on these learnings, and incorporate into the change plans

o Work in concert with business owners, project manager, and project team; project team includes employees, software vendor, and union representatives

o Collaborate closely with internal communication and training teams, and a dedicated contractor to be hired for training material development

o Preferred start in early April; specific date negotiable

o Anticipated duration 13 months (until April 2024)

o Hybrid remote and on-site in SeaTac, WA; need to be in the office for in-person work, typically 3 days per week; fully remote is not an option

o Travel is not anticipated, however limited travel might be needed to meet with stakeholder groups on the West coast

Skills and Requirements

o Minimum 7 years of experience leading change in a full-time role as a Change Manager

o Strong demonstrated skills in change management including assessment, planning, execution, sustainment, and nurturing influencers to lead change within their organizations

o Advanced skills in absorbing new information, learning jargon, identifying connections between disconnected elements, separating needs vs. wants, and negotiation

o Flexible to use the Alaska change management framework, while using sound judgment to adjust it to meet the needs of the project

o Able to balance competing priorities and help the team to do the same

o Able to partner effectively with those who have an execution-oriented lens and may overlook the human element

o Savvy to work with different audiences, adjust style to meet them where they are, and have the confidence to raise both risks and solutions

o Able to successfully work with people at all levels of the company and work on a team with union-represented employees, non-union employees, other contractors, and outside vendors

o Able to create change management-related materials of moderate complexity with professional polish, using PowerPoint, Word, Excel and other standard software tools

o Experience with basic functions in Smartsheet or willingness to learn

o Embody the Alaska Airlines values, especially safety first and care for our employees

o Minimum of 5 years' recent experience with corporations (as opposed to charities, government, or academia) required

o Experience with aviation preferred but not required

o Experience with complex people-oriented scheduling tools preferred but not required

o Experience working in an environment with both union-represented and non-union employees helpful but not required

o Change management certification, or experience with a particular change methodology, not required o Will work day-to-day with the project manager, business points of contact, and project team members/subject matter experts

o Will regularly keep the Strategy & Performance Improvement (SPI) contact person apprised of progress, roadblocks, help needed, etc., and a formal or informal written status report may be required by SPI

o If at times this project doesn't need full-time support, may be assigned to other similar work by SPI null
