To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface. As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers, you will contribute to the definition and development of spacecraft thermal control systems. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced and often uncertain environment, contributing to innovative solutions while demonstrating personal leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Be a technical leader of an established but growing Thermal team of Engineers and Analysts. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Responsibilities: Interface seamlessly across the National Team Lead NASA customer and collaboration discussions Prepare and present at major gated reviews including design reviews, readiness reviews, etc. Act as spacecraft thermal control subject matter expert on behalf of the Thermal Manager in decision boards and working sessions Ultimate responsibility for delivering a technically sound, verified Thermal control system Ensure the work being performed by the Thermal Analysis, Hardware, and SEIT teams adequately responds to mission requirements Provide mentorship and training to early-career or new-to-Blue Engineers Contribute to Blue Origin spacecraft Thermal design best practices Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering 12+ years of relevant Thermal Engineering/Analysis experience Proven technical team leadership skills Solid understanding of thermal fundamentals in spacecraft environments Excellent written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with a variety of active and passive spacecraft thermal hardware Demonstrated understanding of the verification and validation process Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: M.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering 15+ years of relevant aerospace experience Proven success working on NASA missions Confidence with both passive and active thermal control systems Proven thermal analysis skills Experience utilizing tools such as Confluence and JIRA Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $162,465.75---$227,452.05 USD Inclusivity Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
