What you’ll do:

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer , you will lead the development and implementation of robust manufacturing processes, as well as the associated documentation, to ensure the successful launch of new and/or improved switchgear and transformer products and processes. She/He will collaborate with other functions and suppliers to facilitate efficient industrialization and to drive schedule performance while meeting safety, quality, and cost expectations. Sufficient experience in lean manufacturing technique ( VSM, SMED, 5S, Kanban etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise product, plant and manufacturing engineering projects and initiatives with regard to feasibility, cost, and timeliness. Reviews project plans using project management techniques to ensure adherence to sound project management criteria.

  • Participate in annual budget preparation and champions capital expenditures project planning and budgeting.

  • Support development of accurate switchgear cost structure via supervision of bills of materials and routers and periodic audit of bills of materials and routers to ensure accuracy.

  • Leads decision-making involving new and existing product lines to assess equipment/capacity needs.

  • Lead participating in new product development projects following ProLaunch. Lead the implementation of new product designs into the manufacturing environment, including manufacturing documentation (PFMEA, Control plan, Work instructions,SW&WI, Punclist), routing.

  • Establishes and maintains an environment conducive to continuous improvement in manufacturing; recommends alternatives for improving production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Identifies and assesses new technology areas for development. Considers alternative approaches that might be required to adapt to changing technology or organizational demands.

  • Leading cultural maturity journey through the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) deployment (visual controls, process standardization, leader standard work, Gemba walks, manning strategy, daily accountability, process checks and CI for everyone).

  • Mentoring, coaching and challenging site leadership teams and CI leaders in the integration and use of ELSS methodology to include but not limited to Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF), High Performance Work Teams (HPWT), ELSS Tools, Rapid Improvement Events/Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma Projects, as well as the business Lean Tool Certification Program

  • Supporting the achievement of Plant Cost Out goals as established by Profit Plan. Managing and updating Cost-out hooper and pipeline to support the business goals.

  • Coordinating and mentoring the VSMs between the plants to identify best strategies to reduce the non-value-added activities between the plants.

Qualifications:

  • BSC, MSC, Industrial Engineer, Mechanical engineer, Mechatronics, Electrical Electronics

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position

Skills:

  • Good command of verbal and written English

  • Working knowledge of part/assembly drawings and bills of materials

  • Experience in new product development and industrialization

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, VA/VE, and LEAN manufacturing tools

  • PDM-Creo-Enovio / Model manager (CAD)

  • Understanding of problem solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis

  • Proficiency in MiniTab; knowledge of Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing

  • Experience in the Assembly and testing of complex electro-mechanical products is a big plus
