Backend Developer

OVERVIEW
The Backend Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance applications hosted on theA WS platform. This role involves working closely with our development team to architect, develop, and deploy secure, scalable, and reliable backend solutions that meet our business needs.
JOB DUTIES
Design and build high-performance, reusable, and reliable cloud-based applications aligned with industry best practices
Identify bugs and align with requirements during debugging
Oversee complex application features and technical designs; analyze, configure, implement and deploy the components required for intricate solutions
Follow established best practices and data governance procedures in development and integration of applications
Participate in team technical architecture review sessions
Collaborate with various internal teams to ensure AWS cloud environments support internal needs related to functionality and performance
Identify and articulate design considerations, trade-offs, benefits, and recommendations for technical architecture
Develop and maintain technical documentation on custom enhancements, integrations, and environments
Define service capacity planning strategies
Write infrastructure as code using CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar
Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
Understand the current application infrastructure and suggest changes as needed
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (Preferred)
4 years hands-on software development experience
3 years experience developing web applications or services in C#, Java, Node.js or both.
2 years experience designing, developing and implementing database solutions (SQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
AWS Solutions Architect or AWS Developer Certification
Strong knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Prior experience with the serverless approaches using AWS Lambda, preferred
Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems
Knowledge of writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using CloudFormation or Terraform
Experience creating reusable, effective, and scalable micro service-based applications
Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and the ELK stack
Strong knowledge of front-end technologies and frameworks like ReactJS, Vue.js, C#, .NETCore and RESTful web services
Excellent research and analytical skills and ability to translate users stated business need into meaningful business solutions
Enterprise-level understanding of cloud based applications and services on the AWS platform
Experience creating and integrating with Soap or REST APIs
