Job Summary:

Reporting to the Solutions and Emerging Technologies Lead, the Solutions Architect will work across Digital Technology, Engineering, and Operations and Supply Chain to define and design technical solution architectures. You will be advocating across the various organizations to present industry best practice architecture frameworks in the development of business and customer solutions. The Solutions Architect will be engaged at all levels to generate technical proposals and solutions to their business’ problems in a collaborative fashion.

This position is currently designated as fully remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories).

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Take high level business requirements, derive constituent parts and identify latest technologies to address the requirement

  • Develop business, application, systems, data, services and solution architectures; design and maintain target technical architecture for the Raytheon business unit’s portfolio of products and services

  • Devise technical product roadmaps enabling migration from the current state to the targeted future state

  • Ensure that design and development work undertaken within the teams is aligned to the approved technical architecture

  • Use deep knowledge of cloud capabilities and platforms, taking advantage of cloud service providers (e.g. serverless architectures) in designing and implementing contemporary architectural solutions whenever possible

  • Satisfying all applicable cybersecurity considerations

  • Working with the software tool owners and developers to plan, design, and review the construction of solutions, providing direction and guidance that ensure compliance with standards and requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically, a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years’ experience

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience planning, designing and integrating Information and Communications Technology (ICT) system components including hardware, software and services

  • Experience developing, maintaining, and ensuring the integrity of end-to-end technology solutions to address specific project / program / product requirements and align to technology strategies, architectures and engineering standards

  • Development experience across contemporary application architectures, cloud computing, IT infrastructure, IT governance, and IT security

  • Experience with Agile, DevSecOps, and other SDLC methodologies

  • Experience communicating technical concepts and designs using contemporary tools such as Sparx EA and/or Visio

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience architecting security designs in compliance with security regulations

  • Experience working with a range of different technologies and/or products addressing rules engines, database management systems, data modelling and data analytics; High Performance Computing (HPC);

  • Ability to speak with customers and business partners in their language and to understand their business processes and to translate those needs into DT architecture requirements.

  • Knowledge of leading-edge technologies and applications with the demonstrated ability to identify and quickly understand and apply those concepts in a practical way.

  • Experience with public cloud service providers (such as AWS and/or Azure)

  • Experience assessing the risks, opportunities, and business value of complex technical solutions and quantify them in a way that is measurable and meaningful to the business.

  • Ability to inspire confidence in technical approaches with in-depth domain expertise and clear persuasive communications.

  • Understanding of multiple engineering and operations/manufacturing disciplines in order to best meet the demands these groups put on the organization

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

  • Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

  • Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

    This requisition is eligible for an employee referral award. ALL eligibility requirements must be met to receive the referral award.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
