Job Description

AECOM’s Water Infrastructure/Civil team, are looking for a Principal (or higher) level Engineer ideally with 10 years’ experience to join their team in Townsville (Queensland). You will join a high-performing, close-knit team consisting of engineers, designers and scientists to work on a range of projects within the Water infrastructure space.

What will a day in this role look like:

  • Work on a variety of water infrastructure projects including pipelines, pump stations, storage reservoirs, and water & wastewater treatment infrastructure.

  • You will assume responsibility for managing the commercial aspects of projects from the business development stage through concept development to detail design and construction stages.

  • Assume a technical lead role on projects with support from various specialists within the AECOM resource pool.

  • Guide and mentor junior engineers and designers, contributing to the growth of our talent pipeline.

  • Ensure all quality assurance processes are followed, delivering projects on time and within budget.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships working with various clients across a range of sectors such as regional councils and resources sectors.

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) / Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or be eligible for registration.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and meeting delivery requirements in the water infrastructure industry.

  • A future leader with an interest in succession and long-term growth within a global organisation.

  • Ability to work collaboratively at both an internal and external, client-facing level, developing new client relationships and maintaining existing networks within the business.

  • Ability to and an interest in in guiding and mentoring junior engineers and designers, contributing to the growth of our talent pipeline.
