JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Engineering is hiring a full-time graphic design specialist to create engaging, on-brand materials as part of its Communications and Marketing Department, which supports academic and research units across the college. This position will report to the creative director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, edit, and integrate digital content, graphics, animation, photography, illustrations, and other multimedia visualizations and imaging assets.

  • Design and develop emails and newsletters in the college’s email marketing platform, MailChimp.

  • Support content authors to ensure multimedia solutions reflect overall goals.

  • Create proofs, prototypes, mock-ups, wireframes, and other visual aides.

  • Prepare files for production and work with print vendors to oversee quality control as well as ensuring deadlines and budget considerations are met.

  • Create presentation and communication templates for promotional and administrative needs.

  • Comply with accessibility standards, brand style, and brand standard guidelines.

Requirements and Qualifications:

This position requires an associate's degree and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Experienced in handling multiple projects at a time with quick turnaround when needed.

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work within a project workflow system to meet deadlines.

  • Comfortable completing a project independently from start to finish.

  • Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Creative and driven with an interest in understanding the many units that make up the college.

  • Excited to work in a collaborative team environment.

  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

  • Proficient in the Microsoft suite.

    Experience in photography, videography, and/or web content management systems is a plus.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$51,000.00 - $74,000.00
