Our data governance team operates at the forefront of organizational data management, serving as stewards of data integrity, security, and compliance. The team is composed of remotely located, skilled professionals with diverse expertise in data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data quality assurance, and is dedicated to promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making.

About the Role:

As an Associate Director, Data Governance Analyst, you will elevate the standards of excellence within our data governance team, assuming a leadership position to drive strategic initiatives and foster innovation in data management practices. Reporting directly to the Director of Data Governance, you will leverage your extensive expertise to shape and execute the organization's overarching data governance strategy, ensuring its alignment with strategic business objectives. Your role will be pivotal in guiding cross-functional teams towards the implementation of industry-leading best practices, fostering a culture of data excellence, and unlocking maximum value from our data assets.

This is a remote role based in Canada

You Will:

  • Inspiring and championing the adoption of the data governance team's vision and mission, fostering alignment across all levels of the organization.

  • Spearheading the development and deployment of cutting-edge platforms to elevate data and information management as critical enterprise assets.

  • Providing expert support to fellow team members, ensuring the delivery of secure, accurate, and actionable data throughout its lifecycle.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in Data Governance practices

  • University degree (Bachelors or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent is preferred

  • Led Reference & Master Data efforts to support strategic goals

  • Overseen backend efforts and data engineers, ensuring seamless integration and efficiency

  • Mastered the use/implementation of Reference Data Management platforms to effectively support and advance business objectives

  • Enhanced data interoperability between lines of business by leveraging and evolving taxonomies

  • Pioneered the discovery, creation, and innovation of new opportunities for data governance within your organization

  • Taken a leading role in integrating with various data quality teams and processes, aiming to enhance both process and technology supporting data quality initiatives

  • Applied advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to research technical information within applications

  • Collaborated closely with divisional leadership and internal colleagues to instill and nurture a governance-centric culture

  • Conducted internal assessments to ensure strict adherence to policies and standards related to security, privacy, encryption, and other relevant areas

  • Recommended and formulated processes and best practices to ensure the success of data quality, data governance, data lineage, data architecture, reference data, metadata, and master data management programs

  • Attained subject matter expertise of company data, becoming a go-to resource within the organization for insights and guidance

  • Comprehensive understanding of the Data Management International (DAMA.org) body of knowledge
