The position is responsible for the market development and growth of product sales & services into the Building Services and Industrial markets as determined by the management team. The incumbent will be tasked with identifying & exploiting sales, opportunities, applications and support for all products and services available through Xylem Water Solutions UK Ltd. The area for this role is the North West and North East of England.

  • To sustain and grow the sales of all Xylem products and services within defined markets such as Building Services and Industry, through both direct and indirect sales channels based on the strategy in place.

  • Work with other Sales Teams to ensure above market rate growth within the specified market sectors.

  • To develop relationships and maintain agreements with distribution channel biased customers, working in partnership with them to ensure maximum potential gain in share of wallet.

  • Analyse sales data and arrange your activities in accordance with needs to grow the business within your identified areas of responsibility.

  • To liaise closely with other Field Sales Engineers to ensure cross-communication of ideas and successes and, where appropriate carry out joint visits to facilitate growth and gain incremental business into the identified sectors we wish to target.

  • To develop an Annual Business Plan for the Northern Area area identifying strategic and financial goals for all products and services demonstrating how these will be achieved.

  • To produce timely and credible forecast information for area sales and ensure key metrics and KPI are met and communicated.

  • To assist in proactively working to investigate and resolve account conflicts and escalate where necessary within the customer base of responsibility.

  • To support the National Wholesaler sales strategy and manage and support any of these wholesalers within your geographical region, contributing towards the growth of this strategy. Working with the National Accounts Manager.

  • To update, maintain, review and work utilising the Xylem CRM system called Salesforce, updating and chasing quotations within your sales area.

  • Any other duties, within your capabilities, as required by Management

4. Build through teamwork, the area is part of a larger region, it will be important that the individual co-operates with colleagues in other areas as cross area activities are likely.

5. Inspire commitment, the individual will need to be able to communicate well with both internal and external customers at times delegating work to others where appropriate.

Experience/Skills/Knowledge Required

  • Must demonstrate a proven track record of a successful Sales Management role over a 3-5-year sustained period in a Fluid Handling or associated market.

  • Must have a good understanding of Windows based computer programs, Excel.

  • Coaching and Mentoring skills.

  • Presentation skills - preparing and delivering to all levels to internal and external audiences.
