The Director, GRA Strategy & Planning is responsible for developing and managing business planning and reporting processes, ensuring they are effective, efficient, understood and adhered to across the organization in line with leadership expectations.

The position manages the periodic review of GRA’s mission, strategy, priorities, annual goals and objectives, and related organizational capabilities by providing environmental and analytical insights, facilitating alignment, and driving broader communication and employee engagement initiatives. It also leads cross-GRA strategic initiatives.

It further reviews and contributes to shape and evolve GRA’s governance and control model including governance bodies, scope of authority, decision-making processes and metrics, whilst ensuring a simple, lean, and empowering approach.

It leads to ensure a consolidated resource management (budget, headcount, etc.) across GRA, which includes the development and implementation of planning processes and related performance metrics in close collaboration with project management and finance partners to adhere to broader business processes and guidance.

The position works collaboratively and builds alliances and strong engagement with GRA partners to achieve superior business support thereby enabling GRA to deliver on its mission. In addition, it benchmarks GRA’s business performance against competitors and it is on top of emerging industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education: BA/BS, preferably life sciences/healthcare

  • Preferred education: MS, PhD/PharmD (or equivalent)

  • Further education in business/finance is a plus

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • 10 years in global pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry

  • 3 years in regulatory affairs or related field

  • Experience in business support and in strategy execution in a R&D and/or commercial environment

  • Experience working across multiple regions/countries

  • Experience to successfully lead strategic projects and change efforts in a complex, global, and heavily regulated environment

  • Basic understanding of regulatory affairs policies/guidelines and processes, and global regulatory trends

  • Good understanding of R&D and commercial processes and business needs

  • Experience in managing governance structures as well as in consolidating and optimizing resources, budget, and capacity planning, management and reporting

  • Strong business and elementary corporate financial skills

  • Ability to be a trusted partner for business support functions such as HR, Finance and Communications

  • The highest personal and ethical standards

Preferred:

  • 5 years in regulatory affairs would be preferred

  • Experience in regulatory affairs across therapeutic/disease areas, regions, and/or functions

Other:

  • Language requirements: English – native or proficient

  • Travel percentage: less than 10% national or international

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $157,00 - $271,400.

The anticipated base pay range for this position in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA is $193,000 to $312,110.

The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
