Forest / Warren Human Services Children and Youth Social Services Aide 2 or 3 in WARREN, Pennsylvania

Forest Warren Human Services is looking for team members who are willing to assist us in making a difference in people's lives. This is a career with impact. Social Service Aides provide support to the Children & Youth caseworkers and the families and children we serve. They report to the Children and Youth Quality Assurance Supervisor for guidance and direction.  This position has a variety of roles and responsibilities within the agency such as; transporting children and/or parents to visits and various other appointments, supervising parent-child visitations, coaching parents in areas such as budgeting, nutrition, personal hygiene, care and maintenance of the home and care of the children.  In addition, aides assist parents and families with locating housing, employment, completing assistance applications, and obtaining items necessary for daily living. Finally, this position offers a flexible work environment and great benefits. Qualifications: Social Services Aide 2:

  • Graduation from high school or its equivalency and two years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency, which includes one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information; or
    • An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, and criminal justice or other related social sciences.
  • Or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Social Services Aide 3:

  • One year as a Social Services Aide 2; or Graduation from high school or its equivalency and three years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency, which includes one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information; or

  • An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, and criminal justice or other related social sciences and one year of experience in a human services agency, which includes one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information.

  • Or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
