Amalgamated Bank Sr. Enterprise Project Manager in Washington, District Of Columbia

The Senior Enterprise Project Manager partners with executive management and key executive stakeholders to drive the clear definition of projects and ensure that projects are appropriately scoped, approved, budgeted, planned, and scheduled. During the execution phases, the Senior Enterprise Project Manager overseas all aspects of project delivery, monitors and communicates progress, manages issues and risks, and closing processes to ensure all required supporting documentation is created and updated according to the Project Management and Bank Governance standards. The Senior Enterprise Project Manager enhances the Project Management Office’s value and reputation by serving as a trusted advisor to executive-level project stakeholders and by mentoring project team members and junior Project Managers.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Plan, execute, monitor and control multiple, highly complex enterprise-wide merger and acquisitioncore system conversion, and digital transformation projects by managing project stakeholder expectation.

  • Assist in the process of, prioritization and scheduling projects based on the Bank’s strategic goals and objectives.

  • Identify, form and lead project teams, drive the allocation of appropriate level of resources for assigned projects. Identify and resolve resource issues and constraints.

  • Analyze information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and syndicate it with the project team.

  • Work closely with key executive stakeholders to document their needs and translate them into formal business requirements and partner with IT to document technical requirements, processes and workflows.

  • Manage and report on project budget status , including related scope.

  • Develop project plans and timelines; Monitor, track progress and manage adherence to project schedules.

  • Track, manage and communicate progress, next steps, issues risks to all project team members and escalate to executive sponsors and key stakeholders as needed.

  • Troubleshoot issues and escalate to executive sponsors and key stakeholders as needed.

  • Engage and manage vendors, as needed, to deliver project-related work.

  • Facilitate lessons learned at project closure and utilize them for continuous improvement

  • Mentor project team members and junior Project Managers.

  • Support and comply with project SOX Governance, Project Life Cycle and IT Change Control standards and documentation requirements.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and be a champion across the organization.

  • Perform other duties as directed.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 + years of experience in project management, preferably in the banking / financial services industry. Knowledge of commercial banking, consumer banking, lending, trust and technology is preferred

  • Proven project delivery experience of complex technology and/or digital transformations. A background in digital customer experience is preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.

  • Exceptional organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines and multitask

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to interact and communicate all levels of executive management, project team members, and vendors

  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, PowerBi)

  • Awareness of Smartsheet

    Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $130,000.00 – $145,000.00. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
