Job Title: Maintenance Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

We are looking for a reliable Maintenance Manager to oversee all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of the company’s facilities. You will be the one to ensure that your colleagues have the best physical resources available to complete their duties according to budget. The goal is to ensure the company facilities are well cared for and adequate to support the company’s business operations.

The duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.

  • Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.

  • Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality.

  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.

  • Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (custodians, janitors etc.).

  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.

  • Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance.

  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.

  • Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities.

  • Ensure health and safety policies are complied with.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

  • Travel as needed 

  • Repair a variety of issues

  • Experience with dental equipment 

    Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management preferred

  • Proven experience as maintenance manager or other managerial experience.

  • Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) will be a plus

  • Valid Drivers License 

    Knowledge and Skills/Expected Competencies

  • Experience in planning maintenance operations.

  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.

  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment.

  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.

  • Excellent organization, prioritization, follow up, analytical and time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Ability to provide guidance and training to professional and technical staff in area of expertise.

  • Helpful and constructive view of working with others to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Ability to develop and implement new approaches to improve processes, procedures or the general work environment.

  •  Ability to review critical issues, effectively solve problems and create action plans

    Physical/Mental Demands and Work Environment

  • Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking during

  • Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 49 pounds

  • Dexterity in eye/hand coordination, feet (foot pedals) manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)

  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces
