Position Overview: This role will work as a team member for a leading electrical contractor as Director of Fleet Operations with a significant investment in a fleet of vehicles, trucks, and equipment.  The Director of Fleet Operations is responsible for these assets.

Base Location/Travel Requirements: This position is based out of our Fleet Terminal in York, PA Some travel (as necessary) to other operations centers, offices, and yard locations, and also to attend training and offsite team building meetings. Customer-related travel may also be required.

Essential Functions/Duties: Develop and maintain a relationship with field leadership. Meet or exceed all established business "scorecard" metrics consistently. Develop and administer a program that results in a fleet that supports our primary mission to differentiate ourselves by providing exceptional value to our customers and exceeding their expectations. Develop specifications, based upon executive leadership recommendation and industry best practices, for purchased, leased, and rental equipment. Develop life cycle analysis of equipment assets. Identify optimum disposal time for equipment classes and appropriate disposal methods. Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for individual equipment classes, including keeping appropriate records. Develop and administer a program to maintain required licenses, registrations, and certifications to comply with regulatory, insurance, and company requirements. Accuracy of reporting of costs associated with equipment asset base. Coordinate optimum utilization of idle equipment resources.

Education, Skills, Experience: Required: Minimum of 10 years of experience of progressive responsibility in maintaining and administering a fleet of vehicles and equipment similar to the IB Abel fleet. Positive leadership style. Good oral and written English language expression. Strong communication, organizational, analytical, leadership, and relationship skills. Desired: Class A CDL is preferred but not required.
